On Wednesday Night, June 14th at 6 pm PT, we will honor and celebrate Juneteenth with our co-host Antoinette Hall.  We are honored to also have several esteemed guests joining us. You will meet Academy Award Winning Actor Louis Gossett Jr., who is a National Spokesperson for Juneteenth. We are also welcoming back Piper Dellums and Dr. Mama Ivy, who are two of our favorite presenters. Rounding out this all-star celebration is our Beloved Pato Banton (who is also the husband of our co-host Antoinette)
This evening will include some powerful musical offerings from Omashar, Pato & Antoinette and Sound Spa from Dr. Mama Ivy. Please invite your friends and family!
From a historical viewpoint, Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving its name from combining “June” and “nineteenth”, it is celebrated on the anniversary of the order, issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for slaves in Texas.
